Spring is in full bloom here at The Court Jeweller HQ, and I was delighted to see Queen Letizia bring out a bright and colorful pair of earrings for a recent outing in Spain.

There was a major heirloom brooch sighting in Madrid yesterday, with Queen Letizia bringing out a fabulous jewel from Queen Ena’s collection for a diplomatic lunch.

Today’s royal history tale at Hidden Gems focuses on the Connaught family’s visit to Spain in 1905, which did not, surprisingly, include a meeting between the princesses and the eligible King. As bonus reading today, we’ve got a look at the royal jewels worn at the Spanish court during this period, which was marked by the influence of the monarch’s powerful mother, Queen Maria Cristina.

On Monday, royals from across Europe joined survivors, dignitaries, and heads of state and government on the site of the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp in Poland to reflect and remember on the 80th anniversary of the camp’s liberation.

On Monday, the Spanish royals attended the Pascua Militar celebrations in Madrid, and Queen Letizia brought out a special strand of family pearls for the occasion.
