The Spanish royal family’s summer schedule in the Balearic Islands continued this week with the annual reception for local officials and representatives, with plenty of royal jewelry on display at Marivent Palace.

King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia led the royal party at the reception, held annually at one of the family’s favorite summer residences, Marivent Palace. (Queen Sofia loves the home so much that she lives there for much of the year.) The entire family dressed casually for the reception, with Felipe in a white linen shirt and Letizia in a white eyelet dress.

Queen Letizia accessorized with a lovely pair of earrings made by a local designer, Isabel Guarch. Letizia has been a fan of pieces made by the Mallorcan designer for several years and has numerous examples of Guarch’s work in her jewelry box.

The earrings that Letizia chose for the Marivent reception are the brand’s Llum Pendant Earrings, which are made of 18-carat yellow gold with tiny diamond centerpieces. The earrings were inspired by the rose window in the Cathedral of Santa Maria of Palma.

The reception was actually Letizia’s second outing in the earrings. She also wore them on July 31, when she attended a screening of one of the films from the Atlàntida Mallorca Film Festival in Palma with her daughters.

Letizia has worn Isabel Guarch earrings several times for receptions at Marivent in recent years. In August 2022, she wore a pair of leafy earrings from the brand with an orange and green patterned dress.

And in August 2023, she wore the firm’s Vents earrings, which are inspired by traditional wind rose navigation tools, for the annual Marivent reception.

Queen Sofia is a regular attendee at the summer reception at Marivent, but this year she was joined by two newcomers to the event: her granddaughters, the Princess of Asturias and Infanta Sofia. All three wore brightly patterned ensembles for the reception. Princess Leonor’s blue and white dress was borrowed from her mother’s closet.

With the boldly patterned dress, Leonor wore a gold ring and a new pair of earrings from a Spanish jewelry brand that we discussed here earlier this week: Suma Cruz.

Leonor’s earrings are the brand’s “Gold Dusk” style, per UFO No More. Like the acacia-inspired jewels worn by Queen Letizia recently in Palma, Leonor’s earrings are part of the brand’s autumnal collection. The earrings, which are made of gold-plated brass, retail on the company’s website for €200.

Infanta Sofia, true to form, did not wear any visible jewelry with her bold pink dress for the reception.

But the elder Sofia more than made up for her granddaughter’s minimalism. Queen Sofia, as usual, piled on the jewels, wearing a pair of earrings with light blue gemstone drops, a gold chain necklace and another necklace with a gold pendant, and stacks and stacks of bracelets on each wrist.
