Sparkling Royal Jewels From Around the World

One of Europe’s future sovereigns, the Duchess of Brabant, completed her university education last week, and both she and her mother, Queen Mathilde of the Belgians, wore patriotic jewels for the graduation ceremony.

King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of the Belgians had a particularly busy Thursday, visiting a special flower festival in Ghent before jetting off to Sweden for a tiara-filled family celebration.

Before we fully move on from the jewels of last week’s Belgian state visit to Norway, let’s have a look at two sparkling sapphire appearances from Queen Mathilde during days two and three of the trip.

This week, the King and Queen of the Belgians headed to Oslo for a state visit with their Norwegian counterparts, and the banquet held on the first evening brought out a pair of special royal tiaras.

On Tuesday, members of the extended Belgian royal family gathered in Brussels to remember their departed loved ones, and Queen Mathilde appropriately wore a brooch that belonged to the late Queen Fabiola for the occasion.
