Sleek Spanish Royal State Visit Jewels for Queen Letizia in Egypt

This week, another state visit was also happening, as King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain traveled to Egypt. Here’s a look at three of the more formal ensembles that Letizia wore during the trip.

On their arrival in Egypt on Tuesday evening, the King and Queen headed to the St. Regis Cairo Hotel, where they hosted a reception for 300 members of the Spanish community living in Egypt. For the reception, Queen Letizia wore an elegant black off-the-shoulder dress.

She accessorized with a pair of modern earrings made of rose gold and set with black diamonds. The jewels are in the shape of a lightning bolt.

On Wednesday, the royal couple headed to the Heliopolis Palace in Cairo for a meeting with President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi and his wife, Entissar Amer Al Sisi. During the official reception, the national anthems of the two countries were played, a guard of honor was inspected, and formal introductions were made between the two diplomatic delegations.

For the palace reception, Queen Letizia wore a crisp white floral gown from the Spanish fashion brand The 2nd Skin Co, the same design firm that made the royal blue ballgown that Letizia wore during the Dutch state visit in 2024.

With the dress, Letizia wore another pair of climber-style earrings. This pair, made of rose gold and set with white diamonds, comes from the brand Gold & Roses.

The left and right earrings feature slightly different versions of the floral design. Letizia has worn these on various occasions, including an outing on National Day in October 2023.

On Wednesday evening, the Giza pyramid complex provided a dramatic background for photographs of the royal and presidential couples. (A note: I suspect that these photographs may have been digitally tweaked during the creation process, probably to try to clarify facial features in difficult lighting. I haven’t manipulated the content of images myself—that’s not something I do.)

To gaze on the trio of pyramids and the Great Sphinx, Letizia wore a bright blue dress. (UFO No More tells us that it comes from the brand Joseph.) Her earrings appear to be a new pair, perhaps with an evil eye design? I look forward to clearer photographs of these in the future.
