On Tuesday, world leaders were welcomed to The Hague ahead of a NATO summit by the Dutch royals, who wore glittering family diamonds for a dinner at Huis ten Bosch.

King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima hosted a dinner for heads of state and government attending the NATO summit on Tuesday, posing for photographs outside the Palace of Huis ten Bosch in The Hague ahead of the event.

The King and Queen were joined by their eldest daughter, the Princess of Orange, as they greeted their guests inside the palace. Here, Princess Amalia shakes hands with President Zelensky of Ukraine.

For the dinner, Queen Máxima wore a lime green jumpsuit from Natan with a dramatic cape design, paired with matching suede heels.

She also added major diamond pieces from the family vaults, including diamond earrings that belonged to Queen Juliana and one of the Dutch East Indies bracelets. The statement jewelry piece of the ensemble was Queen Emma’s Diamond Aigrette, which dates to 1879. The ornament can be worn in various ways: pinned to a gown in different directions, or as a hair ornament, to name two options.

Máxima has worn the aigrette for numerous occasions over the years. One of the most memorable was a return event during the Greek state visit in 2022, when she paired the aigrette with a one-shoulder ensemble and the earrings made from clusters removed from the Stuart Tiara.

Princess Amalia wore a black Ralph Lauren dress for the dinner, paired with even more Dutch royal diamonds. Her figure-eight earrings date to the 1960s, but they feature diamonds that were once part of an enormous tiara that belonged to Queen Wilhelmina.

Princess Amalia also added another piece of diamond jewelry from the family vaults to her ensemble: the gorgeous diamond trellis bracelet, which also belonged to Queen Wilhelmina.
