Queen Letizia arrived for one of the most glamorous annual events of the Spanish royal summer this weekend wearing her power color and a pair of earrings from a favorite local designer. Let’s take a closer look at her palm earrings in Palma, shall we?
The Spanish royals are in the Balearic Islands for their annual summer residence, and on Sunday, Queen Letizia made her customary appearance at the closing gala of the Atlàntida Mallorca Film Fest in Palma. During the gala, Letizia presented the Master of Cinema Award to the French composer Alexandre Desplat, who is an Academy Award-winner for his work in the films The Grand Budapest Hotel and The Shape of Water. (Royal film lovers will also recognize him as the composer of the score for The Queen and The King’s Speech.)
For the occasion, Letizia wore a Grecian-inspired dress in scarlet red, paired with earrings from a jewelry designer whose work often appears on the royals in Mallorca.
The earrings are the Palma Gold style from Isabel Guarch. The company is run by a second-generation Mallorcan jewelry designer whose pieces are inspired by the natural world and architecture of the island. This particular pair of earrings comes from the company’s Palm line, which is described on the firm’s official website: “Since ancient times in Mallorca, planting a palm tree at the entrance of a house signified opening its doors with hospitality. Today, this gesture is transformed into a jewel: a symbol of welcome, respect, and the meeting of cultures.”
The palm earrings, which are made of 18k yellow gold, have been worn for royal occasions before. The Princess of Asturias wore them last summer in Palma for an art exhibition, and just a few weeks ago, Letizia wore the same earrings with a green and cream dress for an audience with representatives from the disability community.

Letizia finished off the look with a pair of her favorite rings. She wore her Coreterno ring, which is inscribed with lines from Dante, on the index finger of her left hand, and added her Karen Hallam oval ring beside it on her middle finger.
