The British royals have been popping in often at the Commonwealth Games in Scotland in recent days, and on Saturday, two bejeweled royal duchesses were among the spectators at a pair of events.

On Saturday, the Duke and Duchess of Rothesay (as the Prince and Princess of Wales are known in Scotland) attended netball and cycling events at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. They were joined by their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, as well as William’s uncle and aunt, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh.

Princess Catherine nodded toward classic twentieth-century sportswear with her ensemble for the games, pairing a striped sweater and a pleated skirt with a cashmere jacket from Ralph Lauren.

Her accessories also fell into the “classic daywear” category. She wore a favorite pair of earrings, baroque pearl drops from Annoushka suspended from gold and diamond hoops from Kiki McDonough.

She also wore a necklace strung with tiny gold stars, as well as one of her bangles from Halcyon Days. (The aquamarine one, I think.) She likes to wear the bangles for sporting events, especially Wimbledon. On her left hand, her famous sapphire engagement ring sparkled alongside her wedding and eternity bands.

The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh also made a pair of appearances on Saturday, visiting the Team England house before joining their nephew’s family (and Sir Chris himself) at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome.

For the first outing of the day, Sophie wore a sporty striped top with a team jacket, paired with a pair of gold earrings from one of her go-to jewelry designers.

For the cycling event, she changed into a brightly-patterned shirt. She kept the same gold earrings and added a necklace with a sparkling circle pendant, plus rings on both hands.
