While we were all marveling at the brooches of Royal Ascot last week, a future Queen of the Netherlands gleamed in gold jewelry for a special military event.

On Wednesday, King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands headed to the Prince Bernhard Barracks in Amersfoort, where he presented the new standard to the Princess Catharina-Amalia Hussar Regiment. Fittingly, the King was accompanied by his eldest daughter, the regiment’s namesake, for the event. The regiment, formed during a military reorganization, was named in honor of Princess Amalia in November 2020.

Princess Amalia demonstrated that she’s firmly in the Dutch royal fashion fold, wearing a red floral printed dress from one of her mother’s favorite designers, Natan. She paired the dress with a dark red bag, shoes, and gloves, as well as a hat borrowed from Queen Máxima’s collection. Her other accessory, unfortunately, was a sling. Amalia broke her arm after falling off a horse on June 10. She had surgery to repair her humerus in Utrecht, and she’s now wearing a sling and bandages as she recovers.

Amalia is a fan of bright, trendy yellow gold jewelry, and she wore several pieces for the barracks visit. Per UFO No More, her earrings are the gold-plated Giulia style from the brand Franky Amsterdam. Indeed, the company’s website already features photographs of Amalia wearing the earrings on the product page.

Amalia wore two gold necklaces with the ensemble as well: a delicate station-style necklace studded with pale gemstones, and a slinky gold herringbone-style chain.

She wore a similar stack of bracelets on her right wrist: a gold chain bracelet stacked with a more substantial gold bangle.

She finished off the look with a pair of rings: a chunky gold statement ring, worn on her left hand, and a smaller gold ring, set with gems, on her right.
