Sparkling Royal Jewels From Around the World
The King and Queen of Denmark headed to Christiansborg Palace this week for the opening of the nation’s parliament, and Queen Mary brought along some truly spectacular royal pearls for the occasion.
When tiaras are sparkling for royal gala events, there are often women on the periphery of the royal fold wearing equally splendid tiaras and jewels. These often belong to ladies-in-waiting, and later this month, a tiara worn by one of them will be sold to a new buyer.
While our attention was focused on Luxembourg last week, the King and Queen of Denmark hosted a diplomatic dinner in Copenhagen—with some truly dazzling royal diamonds brought out for the occasion.
Before jetting off to Luxembourg to witness the transition of power last week, the Queen of the Netherlands headed to France for a working visit—and brought some truly remarkable diamonds and pearls with her for the trip.
This week, we learned the exciting news that the Winter Egg, an imperial Easter egg made by Fabergé in 1913, will be sold at auction in London.
