Last week at Christie’s in London, a spectacular example of nineteenth-century tiara craftsmanship was auctioned off to the highest bidder. Today I’ve got a closer look at the jewel, plus some wild speculation about who should have purchased it.

There are two bejeweled state visits happening this week: the German state visit to Britain, which starts on Wednesday, and the Dutch state visit to Suriname, which began on Monday. Here’s a closer look at the jewels worn by Queen Máxima during the first day of Monday’s state visit program in Paramaribo.

On Thursday, Queen Camilla was joined by a pair of royal duchesses in velvet and diamonds for a special black-tie military dinner at the Guildhall in London.
