Sparkling Royal Jewels From Around the World
The Bernadottes gathered in Stockholm on Tuesday for the start of the year’s parliamentary session, wearing their traditional diamond and pearl jewelry–and for the first time in many years, they were joined by Princess Madeleine and Christopher O’Neill.
Today, Queen Paola of Belgium, wife of King Albert II and mother of King Philippe, celebrates her 87th birthday. In her honor, we’re hopping in our tiara time machine and heading back six decades, to one of the sparkling gala appearances that Paola made during the days when she was Princess of Liège.
On Sunday, the King and Queen of Spain joined members of their extended family to remember the life of his late cousin in Madrid, and Queen Letizia wore pearls with special meaning for the occasion.
