How about a little Friday bonus, magpies? The British royals held the second Buckingham Palace garden party of the season today, with several pieces of significant royal jewelry sparkling on the Windsor ladies.

The Prince and Princess of Wales led the royal party at Friday’s Buckingham Palace garden party, which recognized those who have made a difference in their communities through volunteering, supporting charitable causes, and working for emergency services. William and Catherine were joined by the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh and the Princess Royal’s daughter, Zara Tindall.

Prince William gave us a little tie pin moment at the garden party. He wore the gold pin featuring a royal cypher, which I’ve always thought was that of either King George V or King George VI.

Princess Catherine was chic in a black and white ensemble from Self Portrait for the party, paired with neutral accessories and a rather fancy hat.

Kate accessorized with a special pair of diamond and pearl drop earrings that belonged to the late Queen Elizabeth II. The pearls were a wedding gift to Elizabeth from the Hakim of Bahrain in 1947.

She also wore pearls that belonged to her late mother-in-law, Diana, Princess of Wales. The three-row cultured pearl bracelet that she wore on her left wrist was from Diana’s collection. Nigel Milne designed the piece in 1988 as part of a collection supporting Birthright, a British charity supporting mothers and babies. Diana was the organization’s patron.

Sophie Edinburgh was elegant in blue for the garden party. With her Roland Mouret dress, she wore pieces from her personal collection of jewels set with blue gemstones, including her floral earrings and a necklace with a blue gemstone pendant ringed in diamonds.

UFO No More tells us that Zara Tindall’s garden party dress comes from the Australian brand Leo Lin. She also wore a dramatic boater hat and a pair of earrings featuring gold rosette studs and milky blue drops.
