The tiaras were out in Stockholm for a second night running on Wednesday evening, as the ladies of the royal family wore gala jewels for the annual King’s Dinner—and a pair of princesses made their first appearances in two heirloom tiaras from the royal vaults!

It’s December 10th, everyone: one of the most exciting tiara days of the year! The Nobel Prize ceremony and banquet were held in Stockholm today, and there were four dazzling royal tiaras on display for the celebrations.

Last week, the world learned of the passing of Princess Birgitta, a sister of the King of Sweden. In her honor, I’m devoting today’s article to a look back at the trio of tiaras that she wore during her royal wedding celebrations in 1961.
