Let’s reach back to last week for a special family moment in Brussels, featuring the Queen of the Belgians wearing her signature gold statement earrings to celebrate her son’s graduation.

On August 27, the Belgian royal family gathered at the Royal Military Academy in Brussels to celebrate the graduation of Prince Gabriel. The prince, 23, is the elder son of King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of the Belgians. His parents were joined by his older sister, Princess Elisabeth, during the graduation ceremony. Elisabeth is very familiar with the academy, as she studied there for a year before moving on to Oxford and Harvard.

Prince Gabriel’s tenure at the academy began in 2022. He studied social and military sciences in the Dutch language during his time at the school. He also completed an exchange program in geopolitics at Saint-Cyr in France before his graduation.

For her son’s graduation ceremony, Queen Mathilde was elegant in a jacket and matching skirt from Natan, paired with a coordinating headpiece, shoes, and handbag.

Her earrings are part of her large collection of yellow gold statement earrings. These come from a favorite Belgian company, Christine Bekaert Jewelry.

Here’s a product image of the earrings, which are meant to resemble cosmos flowers. The motif is a popular one. Across the Channel, Queen Camilla owns a pair of cosmos brooches and matching earrings.

Mathilde finished off the jewelry look with her usual watch and bracelets, plus her diamond and tanzanite ring, which is thought to have been an anniversary gift from her husband.
