On Monday, the Belgian royal family joined in the National Day celebrations in Brussels, with the royal ladies wearing multiple looks (and jewels!) for the occasion.

The festivities for this year’s National Day started the night before, with King Philippe, Queen Mathilde, Princess Astrid, and Prince Lorenz attending the traditional concert at Bozar in Brussels.

For the occasion, Queen Mathilde wore an Elie Saab jumpsuit with diamond and gold jewelry accessories, including a pair of pavé-set diamond and gold hoops and her diamond and gold Sterlé cuff bracelet. She also wore her diamond and tanzanite ring on her left hand.

Princess Astrid was decked in diamonds, including her diamond fringe earrings and a large sparkling bracelet, worn on her left wrist.

On Monday morning, the King and Queen were joined by their four children for the traditional Te Deum mass at the Cathedral of St. Nicholas and St. Gudula in Brussels. From left to right: Princess Eleonore, Prince Gabriel, Queen Mathilde, King Philippe, Princess Elisabeth, and Prince Emmanuel.

Queen Mathilde wore bright Belgian red (Natan, naturally) for the mass and the parade that followed, paired with the same diamond and gold jewels that she wore the night before for the concert. Interestingly, though, she opted to match her original ruby engagement ring with her ensemble for Monday’s morning events.

Both Princess Elisabeth and Princess Eleonore dipped into Queen Mathilde’s jewelry collection to find earrings to wear for the mass. Princess Elisabeth reached for a pair of hammered gold earrings from Hervé Van der Straeten, while Princess Eleonore borrowed her mother’s classic diamond and emerald drop earrings. These have been in Queen Mathilde’s collection for more than a decade. They were reportedly a birthday present from King Philippe in 2013.

More family members joined the group for the military and civilian parade. Princess Astrid was in uniform, but Princess Claire was on the platform wearing the same classic pearl clip earrings we saw her wear recently in Ypres, paired with another jacket borrowed from Queen Paola’s wardrobe.

No major jewelry for the King’s half-sister, Princess Delphine, this year, though she did wear a pair of heart-shaped sunglasses with her red Benjamin Voortmans ensemble.

Later in the day, the King and Queen and their children headed to the Parc de Bruxelles for more National Day fun. Everyone changed into lighter summer clothes for the occasion, including floral patterned dresses for the Queen and the princesses.

Queen Mathilde wore a pair of statement earrings from Sezane for the party in the park. The leafy earrings, per UFO No More, are the brand’s Georgia earrings, which are made of gold-plated pewter and green resin.

Princess Elisabeth wore Giorgio Armani earrings from her mother’s jewelry box with a serpentine bangle and a denim dress as she greeted the crowds in the park. The beaded friendship bracelet on her right wrist spells out “Belgie.”

In the evening, the family headed to the Parc du Cinquantenaire for a fireworks and laser show. There was another costume change involved. Mathilde wore a favorite Dries Van Noten dress with a bird print, while Princess Elisabeth wore a Victoria Beckham creation with big gold hoop earrings, and Eleonore wore the same gold floral earrings she’d worn earlier with a summery white dress.

Queen Mathilde brought along some of her favorite gold leafy statement jewelry for the evening celebration, wearing gold pendant earrings from Tikli Jewelry and a cuff bracelet from the designer Christine Bekaert. All of the pieces have been in her collection for many years.
