On Thursday, Queen Margrethe II of Denmark marks a major milestone: 50 years on the throne. Most of the formal (read: tiara-filled) Golden Jubilee celebrations have been shifted to September, but I’m going to add a little bling to the week anyway. Today, we’re kicking things off by looking at one of Margrethe’s most glamorous jewelry appearances of all.
The Queen’s jewelry box is filled with diamonds, and some of those jewels have become HM’s favorite, most-worn pieces. Among these are the tiara and necklace that she chose for this occasion, an important artistic anniversary in 1964.
On Thursday, King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain attended the annual Pascua Militar celebrations in Madrid. Letizia wore an heirloom brooch for the occasion—and nearly lost it in the process!
