On Friday morning, the British royal family gathered for a national service of thanksgiving for the Queen’s reign at St. Paul’s Cathedral in London, followed by a luncheon at the Guildhall.

This evening, the royal family coordinated ceremonies in Windsor and London to kick off the lighting of Platinum Jubilee Beacons across the nation and the Commonwealth—and we got a brand-new brooch debut in the process!

The Platinum Jubilee began with a blaze of color and sound this morning, as the Irish Guards led the annual Trooping the Colour presentation in London—and delivered a special salute to the Queen.

The long Platinum Jubilee weekend has finally arrived! In just a few hours, the festivities will begin with Trooping the Colour in London. This weekend is going to be a little different from normal in terms of the content calendar here at The Court Jeweller. Instead of our regularly timed and scheduled posts, I’m going to be attempting to cover the events as they happen.
