Some of my favorite royal pink topazes belong to the Duchess of Cornwall, who wears them in a suite of antique jewelry. Today, we’ve got a closer look at a gala appearance from the jewels back in 2015.

This week, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands embarked on a working visit to the United Arab Emirates, and Queen Maxima packed several pieces of glittering daytime jewelry in her luggage.

The name of the royal family that reigns in the Netherlands is the House of Orange. Although that name originally referred to a geographical region, not a fruit or color, lots of Dutch royal women love to play on the name by wearing jewels set with orange stones, like topazes and citrines.
