This week, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands embarked on a working visit to the United Arab Emirates, and Queen Maxima packed several pieces of glittering daytime jewelry in her luggage.
King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima arrived at the airport in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday to begin their visit. The red carpet was literally rolled out for them from the start.
Queen Maxima wore a polka-dotted dress for the arrival in shades of brown and cream, with coordinating brown suede shoes and a matching clutch bag.
Here’s another view of Maxima’s outfit from the welcome ceremonies. She paired diamond and pearl accessories with the ensemble, including a large pair of pearl drop statement earrings.
She also wore a pearl ring on her right hand, plus a large statement bracelet on her right wrist, stacked with her diamond family initial bracelet. Several more bracelets (including her gold and cabochon gem bracelet) were stacked with her watch on her left wrist. But the spotlight piece of the outfit was the diamond brooch. The piece features a delicate diamond bow, from which a large pendant is suspended. The brooch can be worn with various gemstone pendants. This time around, Maxima placed a pear-shaped pearl drop in the pendant’s double diamond frame. For Prinsjesdag in September, she wore a citrine drop in the same brooch.
On Wednesday, Willem-Alexander and Maxima made a visit to Pure Harvest, a smart farm in Abu Dhabi. The company states that it develops “world-leading controlled-environment agriculture technologies to deliver you only the absolute best quality produce.” The company’s Head Grower, Jan Prins, is from the Netherlands.
For the smart farm visit, Maxima wore a green and white outfit with a bold print. She added a pair of green leafy earrings (obscured a bit by her mask), and several bracelets, including her family initial bracelet and her gold and cabochon gem bracelet (which is engraved with the names of her husband and daughters).
Later on Wednesday, the royal couple headed to the Netherlands Pavilion at the World Expo 2020 in Dubai, where they attended an official ceremony to celebrate Dutch National Day.
Along with a gold bangle and her diamond initial bracelet on her right wrist, Maxima wore her pearl and peridot earrings for the celebration. She also recently wore the earrings, which come from the American firm Scully & Scully, in Berlin during a state visit to Germany.
