We’ve had so many sparkling moments from Queen Máxima lately, we’ve just scratched the bejeweled surface! This week we’ll be looking at even more of her best jewelry appearances in recent days, starting with the joyous Christmas Music Gala taping on Tuesday.

On Tuesday, Queen Máxima arrived at the Chassé Theater in Breda to take part in the filming of the annual Het Kerst MuziekGala, an annual musical Christmas celebration. The event is a project of the More Music in the Classroom Foundation. Máxima is the organization’s honorary chairperson.

Queen Máxima was featured alongside a program of Dutch artists that included Karin Bloemen, Simon Keizer, Hannah Mae, and Ammar, plus the “Biggest School Band,” featuring students from primary schools across the Netherlands. The show will air on Dutch television on December 23.

For the holiday music special, Máxima wore a blue satin top from—you guessed it!—Natan, paired with navy trousers. The large feathered brooch that was pinned to her top is a separate accessory that also comes from Natan.

Máxima continued the monochrome theme through to her jewelry, wearing pieces set with diamonds and bright blue gemstones. Her earrings have a special place in Dutch royal history.

The cluster and drop earrings, which can also be worn in a longer setting with a diamond “string,” were made using parts of a dismantled tiara: the enormous sapphire and diamond diadem given to Queen Wilhelmina as a wedding present by the people of the Netherlands in 1901. The tiara, which was really too big to wear with more modern hairstyles, was broken up in 1962 at Queen Juliana’s direction, and pieces from the diadem were used to make several pairs of earrings and at least one brooch.

Máxima wore the same earrings in their longer setting for King Willem-Alexander’s inauguration in 2013. On that occasion, she wore the family’s other major sapphire sparkler, Queen Emma’s Sapphire Tiara, as well as the family’s impressive diamond and sapphire cluster ornament, used as a pendant with one of the Dutch diamond bow brooches.

Máxima also wore a few more sparkling pieces of interest for last week’s Christmas Music Gala, including a sapphire tennis bracelet, her diamond-tipped gold bangle bracelet, and her diamond and tanzanite ring. The ring comes from a larger suite that also includes a gorgeous pair of diamond and tanzanite earrings.
