Happy Valentine’s Day, everyone! I hope that lots of love finds you today, wherever you may be. I thought I’d add a little sparkle and romance to your holiday with a glimpse of a rather appropriate aristocratic jewel: the diamond heart brooch given by the 11th Duke of Devonshire to his Duchess.
Tributes to the late Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom have poured in from all corners of the world since her death in September, and now a legendary jewelry house has made their sparkling contribution. Boucheron, maker of one of the Queen’s most famous sets of clip brooches, has created a new collection inspired by those famous aquamarine and diamond jewels, called “Like a Queen.”
Princess Astrid, the vibrant older sister of the King of Norway, celebrates her 91st birthday today. To join in the festivities, we’ve got a look today at one of her most interesting tiaras: a double aigrette that has been in the royal family’s collection for more than a century.
