Dazzling Diamonds for the Spanish Royals at the Princess of Girona Awards

Let’s look back at one more glittering July event before the month’s end: a sparkling appearance by the Queen of Spain and her daughters at the Princess of Girona Awards ceremony.

On July 14, the Princess of Asturias arrived in Barcelona for the Princess of Girona Awards with her parents, King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia, and her younger sister, Infanta Sofia. “Prince/ss of Girona” is one of the titles of the heir to the Spanish throne. Historically, it belonged to the heir of the King of Aragon. Today, the Princess of Girona Foundation works to support young people in their professional and personal development.

For the ceremony, Leonor wore a white trouser suit with a pair of modern diamond earrings that she borrowed from her mother’s jewelry box.

The earrings come from Tous. They’re part of the company’s Atelier line, and they feature diamonds set in white gold. The earrings are a faux cuff style, curving up to rest against the top of the wearer’s earlobe.

Queen Letizia has worn the earrings a few times this year, including a debut appearance during the Pascua Militar ceremonies in Madrid back in January.

Speaking of Queen Letizia and diamonds: for the awards ceremony, she wore a sparkling top embellished with crystals, accessorized with a sparkling pair of earrings from her jewelry box.

The diamond earrings, which feature floralesque and ribbon designs and delicate pear-shaped pendants, come from Harry Winston.

Letizia has had the earrings in her jewelry box since at least 2014, when she wore them for a concert ahead of the Princess of Asturias Awards in Oviedo.

One of her most recent outings in the earrings came in October 2024, when she paired them with a white dress for the presentation of the National Culture Awards at the Reina Sofia Museum.

Letizia also offered us a surprising ring moment at the Princess of Girona Awards earlier this month, wearing both her Coreterno ring and her Karen Hallam ring on her left hand.

Infanta Sofia wore a raspberry-colored top and matching trousers for the ceremony. She also, delightfully, added some significant jewelry pieces: a large silver cuff bracelet and a coordinating ring.
