This week, the King of Denmark celebrated his birthday in Copenhagen, with his Queen and two of their children by his side. For the occasion, both Queen Mary and Princess Josephine wore interesting jewelry with their ensembles.

King Frederik X and Queen Mary were joined by their younger children, Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine, as they greeted the crowd below from the balcony of Frederik VIII’s Palace on Tuesday. It was a smaller than usual family gathering for the annual birthday celebration. The King’s mother, Queen Margrethe, is being treated in Rigshospitalet for a blood clot that developed in her hip after a previous fall. Frederik and Mary’s elder son, Crown Prince Christian, was away participating in a military exercise, and their elder daughter, Princess Isabella, was busy with exams.

Queen Mary wore an elegant ensemble in shades of gray and white for the birthday celebration. Per UFO No More, her top comes from Giorgio Armani and her trousers are Proenza Schouler.

Mary added color and interest to the outfit with a bold pair of earrings from her jewelry box. The earrings, which feature red-orange coral pendants, come from Dulong Fine Jewelry. These particular earrings are no longer sold on the Dulong website, but the descriptions of other similarly-hued coral pieces still retailing on the site clarify that the coral comes from “Italy’s Amalfi Coast.”
With the earrings, Mary wore several bracelets and a gold necklace set with diamonds. It’s the Marrakech necklace from the Danish brand Louise Grønlykke.

Princess Josephine wore a vintage-inspired floral dress from the brand Sandro. She opted for vintage jewelry styling as well, layering a single-row pearl necklace over the neckline of the dress.

When she joined in the birthday cheers and waves, we got a closer look at her earrings, which echo the pearls strung on her necklace. The freshwater pearl earrings come from the brand Sophie Bille Brahe. Josephine has also worn another similar pair from the same brand, including an outing during her big sister’s birthday celebrations last year.
