Today, Princess Isabella of Denmark officially celebrates her 18th birthday. Two big events were already held to mark the milestone, and we’ve got a look today at all of the jewels that sparkled in Aarhus and Copenhagen for the occasion.

On Friday, April 11, Princess Isabella was joined by her parents, King Frederik X and Queen Mary, and her younger siblings, Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine, for a special birthday celebration event in Aarhus. The celebration, held at Aarhus’s City Hall, featured a fashion show and music and dance performances.
Isabella also gave a speech during the event. She remarked, “It makes me really happy to be celebrated in a city that has great meaning to me and my family. Here I have celebrated Christmas and Easter, taken walks in the garden and by the water, and enjoyed myself in the old town since I was little. I have many good memories from Aarhus, today I have another. And there will definitely be more after that.”

For the occasion, Isabella wore a blue trouser suit with golden jewelry. She paired slim gold hoops from Dulong with a ring and an initial necklace from the same designer. We’ve previously seen her wear one of these initial necklaces with the letter B (for “Bella”), but this one is a letter P—for “princess,” perhaps? On her right wrist, she stacked a Cartier bracelet with the traditional gold bangle worn by the descendants of Margaret of Connaught.

Isabella also added more sparkle to her outfit with a pair of floral hair combs. UFO No More tells us that these are made by Ellen Hunter and come from Queen Mary’s jewelry box.

Isabella also added another new piece of jewelry to her collection during the Aarhus celebration. She received a gold bracelet, made by local jewelry designer Trine Wilkens, from the Mayor of Aarhus during the event.

Queen Mary wore shades of ivory, brown, and blue for her elder daughter’s birthday celebration, paired with diamond and aquamarine pendant earrings. They’ve been in her jewelry box for two decades.

Princess Josephine wore a good deal of trendy gold jewelry with her ivory jacket and blouse, including layered necklaces and rings on both hands. She also added modern pearl pendant earrings (from Sophie Bille Brahe, per UFO No More) and a signature Georg Jensen Daisy Brooch from Queen Mary’s collection.

Princess Isabella was joined by her parents and all three of her siblings for a gala birthday celebration at Copenhagen’s Royal Theatre on Tuesday, April 15. For the black-tie concert event, the men wore tuxedos and the ladies wore evening gowns and jewels.

Isabella looked every inch a princess in a dramatic, sparkling black tulle evening gown. UFO No More tells us that the dress was made by the designer Jesper Høvring.

Isabella borrowed a special pair of earrings from her mother to coordinate with the dress. These diamond pendant earrings, made around 2010, were acquired by Queen Mary from the Danish auction house Bruun Rasmussen. Mary has been wearing them for gala events since 2017, including a notable appearance at Crown Prince Christian’s eighteenth-birthday gala in 2023.

Isabella also wore bracelets on both wrists, stacking the gold Cartier bracelet and her gold Connaught bangle on her right wrist. A diamond-set bracelet sparkled from her left wrist, and she added a shining ring to her left hand as well.

Queen Mary celebrated her daughter’s birthday by digging in her wardrobe to find pieces she’s had since the year Isabella was born. Her black top and silvery sequin skirt both come from the brand By Malene Birger, and she’s been wearing them together since 2007. Delightfully, Mary paired them with jewels that have centuries of royal history: the earrings, necklace, bracelet, and brooch from the Danish Ruby Parure.

Queen Mary also loaned a pair of earrings to Princess Josephine: her Georg Jensen Dew Drop Earrings, which have luminous blue topaz drops. Josephine’s look was finished off with bracelets, rings, and an Ellen Hunter hair comb.

Several more members of the Danish royal family were there, too. Princess Isabella’s grandmother, Queen Margrethe, attended with her sisters, Princess Benedikte and Queen Anne-Marie. Also present were two of Isabella’s cousins, Count Nikolai and Count Felix, plus Benedikte’s son and daughter-in-law, Prince Gustav and Princess Carina of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg.

Queen Margrethe wore a striking plum-colored evening gown with a warm fur wrap for the concert. She accessorized with a four-stranded pearl necklace and gold and amethyst earrings. The necklace and earrings were gifts to Queen Margrethe from her late husband, Prince Henrik.

Benedikte and Anne-Marie were also in pearls. Benedikte wore a diamond and pearl brooch with her ensemble, while Anne-Marie reached for a brooch set with emeralds, rubies, and diamonds that has an exquisite pearl drop pendant. You can see a close-up of the brooch here.

UPDATE: We officially have a gala portrait and a tiara debut from Princess Isabella! On Monday, the Danish court released new photographs of Isabella wearing the Turquoise Daisy Bandeau, which she has been given by her grandmother, Queen Margrethe. I’m bringing you all the details in a second article today—head over here for more!
There were more birthday jewels in Denmark this weekend, as the royals marked Queen Margrethe’s 85th birthday. Stay tuned for more on those jewels, as well as the British royal jewels worn on Easter Sunday, in the coming days!
