While we wait to see the Prince and Princess of Wales make their traditional St. Patrick’s Day appearance later today, we’ve got time to squeeze in one more piece of fabulous Oscars jewelry! Here’s a closer look at the stunning Cartier necklace worn by Deepika Padukone.
Indian actress Deepika Padukone arrived on the champagne-colored carpet at this year’s Academy Awards ceremony wearing a striking black gown by Louis Vuitton. She was on hand to introduce the performance of “Naatu Naatu,” which later took home the Oscar for Best Original Song.
Big gemstones were a trend at this year’s awards ceremony. (We’ve already talked about some major emeralds and two big Tiffany gems!) Padukone joined in with an incredible Cartier diamond necklace.
The white diamond necklace featured an absolutely incredible yellow diamond pendant. At first, I thought this was a citrine, because of its rich honey color. But Vogue tells us that it is indeed a fantastic yellow diamond.
Padukone didn’t wear any earrings to compete with the necklace, but she did add a little extra bling with additional Cartier pieces: a diamond bracelet and a ring, both worn over her long black gloves. It was no surprise that Padukone chose Cartier for the event—she’s a brand ambassador for the jeweler.
(We’ll be back later today with a look at Kate’s St. Patrick’s Day jewelry!)
