Sparkling Royal Jewels From Around the World
As we’ve seen over the past few weeks, the Duchess of Cambridge’s jewelry box is brimming with jewels set with precious and semi-precious stones. But she’s also been loaned several pieces of jewelry by her grandmother-in-law, Queen Elizabeth II. Today’s diamond chandelier earrings are among those borrowed jewels.
Delicate, antique, and sentimental: the diamond drop tiara of the Swedish royal family has to be one of the most lovely tiaras in a royal collection today. The tiara came to Sweden in 1905 with the country’s new princess, Margaret of Connaught, and has been worn by women in each generation since.
I’ve got quite the Saturday Sparkler to share with all of you today — there are few tiaras in the world that are as interestingly composed as this one, to say the least. With a royal history that began in Spain and ended a few years ago in Germany, this sunburst tiara is a truly intriguing piece.
