Sparkling Royal Jewels From Around the World

Today’s royal brooch post is an absolute whopper! As we begin our annual June exploration of magnificent royal pearls, we’ve got a closer look today at the grand diamond and pearl devant de corsage from the Dutch royal vaults.

Our Magpie of the Month, Queen Juliana of the Netherlands, had numerous suites of glittering royal jewels at her disposal, but her collection also included sets more suited for everyday wear. Today’s collection, her jewels set with rose quartz, fall into the latter category.

The glamorous Queen Máxima of the Netherlands has sported an array of tiaras from the Dutch royal family’s vast jewel collection, but back in 2001, she selected a very small tiara from the family’s stash for her gala jewel debut: the base of the Antique Pearl Tiara.

The Dutch royal vaults are absolutely brimming with tiaras, but today’s deceptively-simple sparkler, Queen Emma’s Diamond Tiara, has been treasured by the women of the family for more than a hundred years.

As our celebration of September’s birthstone draws to a close, we’ve got an especially innovative tiara creation on tap. Today’s sparkler, the Dutch Sapphire Necklace Tiara, is actually composed of a sapphire necklace supplemented by elements from another dismantled sapphire jewel.
