The Swedish royal family held a major summit dedicated to the welfare of the world’s children on Tuesday, with Queen Silvia and Princess Sofia wearing elegant jewels for the occasion.
King Carl XVI Gustaf, Queen Silvia, and Princess Sofia of Sweden were all present on Tuesday for the Global Child Forum at the Royal Palace in Stockholm. The forum, which brings together business leaders to discuss children’s rights, began in 2009.
Both the King and Queen delivered remarks on Tuesday. The King emphasized the need to pay serious attention to the needs and rights of the youngest among us: “Not every decision will be easy and not every interest can be satisfied. But taking children seriously means listening to their perspectives and considering the long-term impact of our actions.”
At the end of the forum, the Queen issued a challenge: “We believe that progress must be measured in the life of a child. In whether that child is safer, healthier, heard, and given the opportunity to thrive. As you return to your organizations, I ask you to take one concrete step. Reconsider one decision. Listen to one young voice. Take one action.”
Both Queen Silvia and Princess Sofia opted for tailored clothing in shades of black and white for the forum. Silvia paired a black and white tweed jacket with a pair of classic Chanel ballet flats.
Her jewelry for the occasion included pearl earrings, a necklace with small pendant drops, stacked bracelets, and a large floral brooch with a sparkling crocheted look.
We saw her wear the same flower brooch recently for another event at the Royal Palace focused on young people: a reception in August for war-wounded Ukrainian children.
Here’s one more look at the brooch, shown during Silvia’s closing remarks at the end of Tuesday’s forum. UFO No More tells us that Silvia’s bracelet stack, which you get a small glimpse of here, included a Cartier Love Bracelet and a white gold and diamond knot bangle.
Princess Sofia was dressed in black from head to toe for the forum, wearing a black turtleneck and a tailored pair of wide-leg trousers.
Two gold-toned accessories added a little extra interest to her outfit: a belt with a gold buckle detail and a gold bracelet, worn on her left wrist.
