Last week, a special royal visit took place in Madrid, with the Queen of Spain and the Grand Duchess of Luxembourg wearing emeralds and citrines at the Royal Palace.

On March 5, Grand Duke Guillaume V and Grand Duchess Stéphanie of Luxembourg arrived in Madrid for an official visit with King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain. The Spanish monarch invited his Luxembourgish counterpart, who recently arrived on his throne, to an official luncheon at the Royal Palace.

Of course, the royal ladies were included in the invitation as well. Both Grand Duchess Stéphanie and Queen Letizia wore shades of green for the occasion: peridot-esque olive green for Stéphanie and saturated emerald for Letizia.

We’ve seen this vintage-inspired ensemble on Queen Letizia before. She wore the same structured green tweed dress in October 2025 for the annual National Day celebrations in Madrid.

For the National Day appearance and the Luxembourgish lunch, Letizia accessorized with a modern pair of pendant earrings set with emeralds. These are reportedly custom creations from the Spanish jewelry brand Tous.

As always, Letizia’s other jewelry accessory was a gold ring from the brand Coreterno, worn on the index finger of her left hand. The ring, which made its debut in January 2023, features Italian text, “Amor che tutto move,” which is the final line of Dante’s Divine Comedy. (It means “Love moves everything.”) The ring also has an engraved inscription inside: “As long as I’m existing you will be loved.” Given the romantic nature of the words, it should come as no surprise that people have guessed that the ring might have been a gift from King Felipe.

Grand Duchess Stéphanie wore a voluminous jumpsuit from one of her favorite designers, Elie Saab, for the luncheon in Madrid. UFO No More tells us that it’s the brand’s Pleated Silk Jumpsuit in the color “Savannah Green.” Stéphanie has been a loyal Elie Saab customer for years, even wearing one of the designer’s gowns on her wedding day in 2012.

The jewelry that Stéphanie wore with the ensemble is part of a favorite suite from the grand ducal vaults. The parure, which includes a tiara, earrings, necklace, and bracelet, is set with honey-colored citrines and pearls. The design of the pieces suggests a mid-century design origin, and it’s thought that the set was acquired by Grand Duke Guillaume’s grandmother, Grand Duchess Joséphine-Charlotte, in the 1970s.

For the lunch in Madrid, Stéphanie wore the necklace with three of its five pendants, the earrings, and the bracelet, which you can see in a nice detail shot here. Over the years, this has become one of Stéphanie’s go-to suites of jewelry. We recently saw her make a glamorous appearance in the entire set for the New Year gala at the Grand Ducal Palace in January.
