Today, The Court Jeweller celebrates its twelfth birthday! Twelve years of tiaras, brooches, galas, history, and so much more—and even more sparkle to come in the new year!

As always, I like to take this opportunity to thank you all for reading and joining in our community here at TCJ. Twelve years is ancient for a blog these days, and in the rapidly-changing world of digital publishing, your dedicated readership is what keeps this place going. I literally couldn’t do it without you!
That doesn’t mean that it’s easy to keep a website running in 2026. An incredible amount of change has taken place online over the past two years alone. It’s increasingly difficult for readers to find websites like this one, thanks to search engines that now want to serve AI “answers” instead of web results, and companies are scraping and repurposing content at an alarming rate. Traffic is down, hosting and image licensing costs are rising, and writers are being significantly squeezed.

Even so, I’m not planning on making any major changes here at TCJ in the near future. At the start of 2026, my content calendar will be, at minimum, as follows:
Monday and Tuesday: a new article at TCJ
Wednesday: a midweek newsletter, free to all, at Hidden Gems
Thursday and Friday: a new article at TCJ
Saturday: a researched article for paid subscribers at Hidden Gems
Sunday: a digest of all of the week’s content from my free TCJ Newsletter
We’ll see how things evolve as the year progresses. During busy times of the year, I plan to share additional articles here at TCJ, especially on Wednesdays and Saturdays, to make sure we can cover as much gala glitter as possible!

I’m always striving to strike a balance between easy, affordable access for readers and a manageable, affordable content calendar for me as a researcher and publisher. I am forever grateful to all of you who have continued to make this possible both here at The Court Jeweller and over at Hidden Gems.
Here’s to a bright, wonderful new year for all of us!
(And some truly dazzling Danish royal tiaras to celebrate 2026! Stay tuned…!)
