On Thursday, Queen Camilla took a break from Balmoral for a day at York Racecourse, where she wore an Edwardian equestrian brooch with some of her favorite diamonds and pearls.

Queen Camilla arrived at York Racecourse on Thursday to attend the second day of racing at the Sky Bet Ebor Festival. While at the racecourse, Camilla also unveiled a plaque commemorating the naming of the Juddmonte International Stakes as the World’s Best Race in 2024, and met with representatives from local charities supported by the York racecourse, members of the Yorkshire racing community and members of the York Racecourse team.

With her brightly printed summer floral dress and her powder blue coat, Camilla wore several favorite pieces of jewelry, including her diamond floral and pearl drop earrings and a four-row pearl choker necklace with a round diamond clasp. Camilla often wears these pieces as a set. Beneath the choker, you’ll also spot a gold necklace with a pendant engraved with the initials of Camilla’s grandchildren.

Camilla arrived wearing a special Edwardian heirloom, the Minoru Brooch, pinned to her coat, and after the coat was removed she pinned the brooch on her dress. The jewel, which features the name Minoru in diamonds interspersed with rubies and sapphires, commemorates King Edward VII’s Derby-winning horse. The sapphires and diamonds represent the royal racing colors.

Camilla has been wearing the Minoru Brooch since the days when she was Duchess of Cornwall, but it has made even more appearances since King Charles’s accession. Camilla has become deeply interested in the royal racing operation, and she wears the brooch frequently for race meetings and other equestrian-related events. Here, she wears the jewel for Betfair Ascot Chase Raceday in February 2025.

And here, earlier this summer, she wears the brooch for a visit to the National Stud in Newmarket. On that occasion, it was difficult to spot the brooch against Camilla’s boldly printed dress.

Here’s one more look at Queen Camilla’s jewels for Thursday’s visit to York Racecourse. She also wore bracelets on both wrists, as well as her diamond engagement ring and gold wedding band on her left hand, and another gold ring on her left pinky finger.
