A patriotic event in Stockholm last weekend brought us a special bejeweled moment, thanks to a necklace worn by Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden.

On Saturday, Crown Princess Victoria arrived at Stockholm Stadium with her children, Princess Estelle and Prince Oscar, for this year’s Finnkampen athletics meet. The annual competition features Swedish and Finnish athletes competing in traditional athletics events like sprinting, jumping, hurdles, discus, and shotput. This year is the 100th anniversary of the first Finnkampen, which was held in Helsinki in 1925. Today, the competition alternates between locations in Sweden and Finland each year.

Crown Princess Victoria, Princess Estelle, and Prince Oscar wore smart casual attire to cheer on Sweden’s athletes during Saturday’s events. UFO No More tells us that Victoria’s bright blue jacket and trousers come from Veronica Beard.

Victoria added several pieces of gem-set jewelry that echoed the patriotic nature of the event. She cheered on the Swedes wearing a necklace from her collection with a sparkling pendant in the shape of the Swedish flag.

She also did a little flag-dressing with her earrings, floral studs that appear to be set with citrines or topazes. The deep yellow gems and the blue suit together represent Sweden’s national colors.

Victoria also wore a few more jewelry touches, including her engagement and wedding rings and a silver-toned bracelet, just visible beneath the edge of her sleeve. It looks like the same bracelet we recently saw her wear at Visby Cathedral. She’s worn the piece on several occasions since then as well.
