One of the most glamorous royal weeks of the year in England kicked off on Monday with the annual Order of the Garter service at Windsor, with plenty of spectacular royal pearls and diamonds on display.
King Charles III and Queen Camilla, in their Garter and decorations, led the procession from Windsor Castle to St. George’s Chapel for the annual Garter Day service. Also attending the service were several more royal members of the order: the Prince of Wales, the Princess Royal, the Duke of Edinburgh, the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, and the Duke of Kent.
With her Garter robes and a white gown, Queen Camilla wore favorite pieces of pearl and diamond jewelry: diamond floral clip earrings with round pearl drops, paired with the four-row pearl choker necklace with the round diamond clasp. They’re the same pearl and diamond pieces that Camilla wore for Trooping the Colour on Saturday.
The Princess Royal was elegant in her Garter robes and a classic pair of diamond and pearl button earrings.
And the Duchess of Gloucester was also gleaming in velvet and pearls for the occasion, wearing pearl and diamond cluster earrings and a pearl necklace with her Garter robes. These are, I believe, also the same pearls she wore on Saturday for Trooping the Colour.
Members of the royal family who have not received the Order of the Garter waited for their spouses on the Galilee Porch ahead of the service. The Princess of Wales was elegant in a white ensemble from Self Portrait and a coordinating Sean Barrett hat for the service, while the Duchess of Edinburgh wore a favorite ’40s-inspired pink dress from Suzannah with a Jane Taylor hat.
Princess Catherine accessorized with some familiar pearly pieces: vintage-inspired costume jewels from the designer Susan Caplan. Both her earrings and her five-row pearl necklace come from the brand.
Indeed, the entire ensemble (sans hat) is a repeated look from the VE Day 80th anniversary concert held at Horse Guards Parade in London in May.
