This week’s Wedding Tiara Wednesday article is a special one: we’ve got a new royal wedding tiara to enjoy! Here’s a closer look at the jewels worn by Princess Iman of Jordan for her royal wedding on Sunday.
In July 2022, King Abdullah II and Queen Rania of Jordan announced the engagement of their elder daughter, Princess Iman, to Jameel Alexander Thermiotis, a Venezuelan-born financier of Greek descent.
On Sunday, the couple were married in a grand, gorgeous ceremony in Amman. Princess Iman was escorted in to the ceremony by her elder brother, Crown Prince Hussein.
They were greeted at the end of the aisle by their father, King Abdullah II, who beamed proudly throughout. Princess Iman is the first of the monarch’s four children to marry.
The wedding took place in a beautiful venue with glass walls and ceilings, allowing the natural landscape outside to shine through. Elaborate florals decorated the space.
The couple were seated on a low couch during the ceremony, with flowers and candles all around.
The King looks on here as Princess Iman signs the wedding contract.
And an emotional Queen Rania gave her daughter a big hug during the nuptials. Princess Iman’s diamond engagement ring is visible in this photograph as well.
Here, the couple exchanges rings.
The couple smiled brightly as they departed from the ceremony.
A series of official portraits of the couple and the family has been shared by the royal court following the wedding. Here’s a lovely official wedding portrait of the bride and groom.
Princess Iman chose a wedding gown from Dior for the ceremony. The dress, with its high neckline, featured lace insets at the collar and cuffs and on the bodice.
She also wore a long lace veil with the ensemble.
Delightfully, the princess elected to wear a tiara on her wedding day. The piece is a modern diamond fringe with a feather design.
The tiara comes from Chaumet. I’ve seen several outlets stating that the piece is connected to the bride’s grandmother, Princess Muna, either a piece from Muna’s personal collection or a new gift from her to her granddaughter. I’ve not seen any official confirmation of this aspect of the piece’s provenance.
Princess Iman also wore a lovely pair of diamond drop earrings for the wedding.

And one of the bride with her mother and her sister, Princess Salma.
From left to right here, we’ve got Rajwa Al Saif (fiancée of the crown prince), Crown Prince Hussein, Queen Rania, Jameel Alexander Thermiotis, Princess Iman, King Abdullah, Princess Salma, and Prince Hashem.
Here’s a look at the princess’s mother and siblings during the wedding. Queen Rania also wore Dior, while Rajwa wore a yellow Roksanda dress and Princess Salma wore a fuschia dress from Andrew Gn.
Rajwa, who will marry Crown Prince Hussein on June 1, sparkled in her pear-shaped diamond engagement ring. She also wore a pair of floral statement earrings set with dark red gems.
Princess Muna, the bride’s grandmother, was lovely in a green ensemble accessorized with diamonds.
The entire family posed for a group photograph during the celebrations, too. You’ll spot even more familiar faces here, including Princess Sarvath and Princess Rym. And near the right side of the photograph is Princess Miriam. She’s the Spanish-born wife of Prince Ghazi, a first cousin of the King. She was married to Prince Kardam, the eldest son of Simeon II of Bulgaria, until his death in 2015. She married Prince Ghazi last September.
We also got to see the princess wearing another family tiara in the days ahead of the wedding. Her mother, Queen Rania, shared a tribute that included this portrait of Princess Iman wearing a diamond floral tiara.
The tiara comes from Queen Rania’s own collection. She’s worn it for various portraits and events, notably a state banquet at Windsor Castle during the state visit to the United Kingdom in November 2001.
