Our Sparkling Spotlight this week has been focused on excellent examples of royal jewelry set with rubies, and today we’re continuing the theme with a look at a suite of royal rubies from Greece, worn for a Swedish royal wedding in 2010.

The Queen’s royal jewelry box is full of pieces set with rubies, including at least two tiaras and several important necklaces and bracelets. Today, we’ve got a look at a ruby-filled state banquet appearance by Elizabeth II in Slovenia back in the autumn of 2008.

The Norwegian royal family has had a lot to celebrate lately! Queen Sonja celebrated her birthday on Sunday, and June 23 marked the 30th anniversary of King Harald and Queen Sonja’s consecration. Thirty years on the throne is a major milestone, and the Norwegian royal court has released a new set of bejeweled portraits to mark the occasion.

We’ve been focusing in on heirloom royal rubies in this week’s Sparkling Spotlight posts so far, but today, I’ve got something newer to share: the modern diamond and ruby suite worn by the Duchess of Cambridge. Here’s a look at the way she styled the jewels for a gala evening almost ten years ago (!).
