Lots of us are decorating our houses in shades of red and green for the Christmas season, so today, I thought I'd add to the festivities with a look at some of the gorgeous green emerald tiaras worn by royal women today. Enjoy!

The Danish Emerald Parure Tiara, part of Denmark's crown jewel collection, is currently worn by Queen Margrethe II. The magnificent tiara is set with emeralds that belonged to two eighteenth-century Danish royals, Queen Sophie Magdalene and Princess Charlotte.

At royal functions in Copenhagen, you'll often see another Danish princess wearing an impressive emerald tiara. Anne-Marie, the former Queen of the Hellenes, wears the Greek Emerald Parure Tiara, set with enormous cabochon stones that came from her husband's Romanov ancestors.

One of the biggest royal cabochon emeralds around lives in the Chaumet Emerald Tiara in Luxembourg, an Art Deco dazzler that is presently worn by Grand Duchess Maria Teresa.

The emeralds in the Emerald Peacock Necklace Tiara from Luxembourg have Scandinavian roots, too. The were taken from jewelry that belonged to Grand Duke Henri's grandmother, Queen Astrid of Belgium, who was born a Swedish princess.

In Stockholm, Princess Sofia's Palmette Tiara features a setting with emerald toppers. She often wears the tiara with emerald earrings, though she hasn't yet paired it with the grand Bernadotte Emeralds.

Of course the extensive Dutch royal jewelry collection includes an emerald tiara! The Dutch Emerald Parure Tiara is delicate and convertible, able to be worn in alternate pearl and diamond settings. Love when Queen Maxima pairs it with the family's incredible egg-shaped emerald cabochon pendant!

Queen Sonja of Norway is the present wearer of the Norwegian Emerald Parure Tiara, a grand and glorious emerald sparkler with French imperial roots. (Note the design similarities to another Napoleonic emerald sparkler, the Angouleme Emerald Tiara!)

Queen Mary knocked it out of the park when she combined the Vladimir Tiara with the Cambridge Emeralds, producing a vibrant emerald setting for the classic sparkler. We all got a thrill last year when the Queen wore the tiara with this incredible emerald necklace for the first time!

Another sparkler from Queen Mary's collection, her Honeysuckle Tiara, has an emerald setting, too. It's perfect for the Duchess of Gloucester to pair with the other emerald jewels she inherited from her mother-in-law, Princess Alice.

A tour through royal emerald tiaras wouldn't be complete without a recent favorite: the Greville Emerald Kokoshnik, which was liberated from the royal vaults by Princess Eugenie for her wedding in October 2018. Here's hoping we'll see it out again soon!
