The British royals have been in sport mode recently, watching lots of the action at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. Here’s a look at some of the jewelry pieces we’ve seen at the competitions over the past week.
August is the month for celebrating the incredible bejeweled legacy of the late Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother. This week, we’re focusing our Sparkling Spotlight posts on some of her most interesting tiaras, including today’s piece, the Strathmore Rose Tiara.
Here at The Court Jeweller, we occasionally depart from our coverage of royal jewels to chat about magnificent jewels in general—and very occasionally, we venture into the world of red carpet jewelry. Today’s jewels, a set of Cartier peridot pieces recently worn for a press event, were just too irresistible not to share with all of you!
Earlier this summer, Sotheby’s in London mounted a truly special exhibition of tiaras, featuring royal and aristocratic pieces alongside more modern examples. Several of our lucky readers were able to visit the exhibition and see the tiaras in person, and today, I’m honored to share some photos taken by our lovely reader Phyllis!
