Sparkling Royal Jewels From Around the World

Some of my favorite royal pink topazes belong to the Duchess of Cornwall, who wears them in a suite of antique jewelry. Today, we’ve got a closer look at a gala appearance from the jewels back in 2015.

The name of the royal family that reigns in the Netherlands is the House of Orange. Although that name originally referred to a geographical region, not a fruit or color, lots of Dutch royal women love to play on the name by wearing jewels set with orange stones, like topazes and citrines.

The Bernadotte royal vaults are some of the most legendary in Europe, packed with pieces linked to the family’s Napoleonic imperial heritage. But today, we’re looking at a suite of jewels with a different, equally impressive royal provenance, worn for a Nobel Prize banquet nearly 20 years ago.

November’s birthstone is the terrific topaz, and we’re highlighting various shades of the gem all week in our Sparkling Spotlight posts. Today, we’re looking at a suite of jewels set with golden yellow gems from Luxembourg.
