Exceptionally bad royal jewelry news broke on Friday in Austria: the diamond necklace made for Queen Nazli of Egypt, which was on display at a museum in Vienna, was stolen by thieves in a smash-and-grab operation.

Last weekend, a major museum opening in Cairo brought royals from across the globe to Egypt. We were treated to royal jewels from Denmark, Jordan, Italy, Thailand, and Japan at the opening ceremony of the Grand Egyptian Museum.
