I took a few days off at the end of last week to enjoy some quality time with family, but the Windsors weren’t on holiday—they were out and about in England, Scotland, and France. Here’s a look at some of the interesting British royal jewelry moments from the first days of July.

The King and Queen began July in Scotland, where they were in attendance on Wednesday at the annual Order of the Thistle service at St. Giles’ Cathedral in Edinburgh. They were joined at the service by the Duke of Rothesay (as the Prince of Wales is known in Scotland) and the Duke of Edinburgh, all wearing the robes and insignia of the order.

Queen Camilla kept her jewelry on the simple side for the service—and really, what could compete with that mantle and collar? But she did wear a pair of pearl drop earrings and the blue agate Vintage Alhambra bracelet from her extensive Van Cleef & Arpels collection.

The Princess Royal headed to France on Wednesday for a solemn moment: the commemoration of the 110th anniversary of the Battle of the Somme. For the occasion, Anne wore her mother’s three-row pearl necklace with pearl drop earrings and a sapphire, diamond, and gold brooch, as well as the badge of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission. Anne has been the commission’s president since 2023.

In London, the Duchess of Gloucester stepped out on Wednesday at the annual service for the Friends of St. Paul’s Cathedral. (She’s patron of the organization.) She wore pearls with a pair of gold and diamond hoop earrings and a bright gold and white daisy brooch from Georg Jensen, just like the one worn by Queen Margrethe of Denmark.

Birgitte wore the brooch and the hoops again on Thursday when she attended matches at Wimbledon. On her blue blouse, the Duchess also wore the badge of the Lawn Tennis Association. (She’s their honorary president.)

It was a very royal blue day at Wimbledon on Thursday. The Princess of Wales also made appearances at the All England Club, watching matches with Tim Henman, Debbie Jevans, Anne Keothavong, and Sir Andy Murray, and meeting with kids from the Shine Camera Club.

For the occasion, Catherine wore a blue blazer and matching trousers with a pair of earrings that have been in her jewelry box for several years. We first saw her wear the lapis and moonstone earrings on Easter Sunday in 2023.

Meanwhile, back in Scotland, another member of the royal family was achieving a major milestone. Lady Louise Mountbatten-Windsor, daughter of the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, graduated from the University of St. Andrews with a degree in English and International Relations.

Lady Louise wore earrings with sky blue pendants, plus a bracelet with a heart charm and a signet ring. Her mother, Sophie, sported a new bob haircut that showed off a pair of yellow gold earrings for the occasion.

The celebrations of Lady Louise’s achievements continued on Friday, when she received the Duke of Edinburgh’s Gold Award. She was one of 600 recipients who received the award at the Palace of Holyroodhouse, presented by her father. Here, Louise and Sophie are pictured during a reception after the ceremony.

For the occasion, Louise wore a light blue dress with vintage-inspired design details, paired with hoop earrings, a necklace with a coin-style pendant, and the same bracelet she wore for her graduation ceremony. Near her left shoulder, she pinned the badge of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Gold Award. The symbol features the royal monogram of her late grandfather, Prince Philip.

The present Duchess of Edinburgh looked on proudly in a floral dress from her wardrobe archive. She accessorized with earrings purchased during a recent visit to Kenya, a necklace with a diamond-set circle pendant, and several bracelets and rings, including the Africa ring from Giulia Barela.
