Let’s start the week off with May flowers—and pearls and pink gemstone drops—as Prince Albert and Princess Caroline attend a bouquet competition in Monaco.

The Prince of Monaco and the Princess of Hanover were on hand for the 57th annual International Bouquet Competition at Monaco’s Yacht Club on Saturday, May 9. The event is organized by the Garden Club of Monaco, for whom Prince Albert serves as patron and Princess Caroline as president. They posed for this official photograph ahead of the event with Melanie-Antoinette de Massy, granddaughter of Princess Antoinette, and the Garden Club’s vice president, Cecilia Casiraghi. (Cecilia is married to Marco Casiraghi, the brother of Caroline’s late husband, Stefano Casiraghi.)

The theme of this year’s competition was “Céleste.” Princess Caroline presented awards to numerous heavenly-themed winners, including bouquets inspired by storms, the moon, an eclipse, and the sun and stars.

For the occasion, Caroline wore a floaty pink dress with a bold floral pattern from the brand Erdem. The company’s website describes the dress: “Cut from lightweight silk voile, this cameo pink dress is decorated with a botanical engraving-inspired print. It has flutter sleeves and falls to a floaty hem.”

With the dress, Caroline wore a long strand of pearls. The necklace appears to alternate larger and smaller round white pearls in its design.

She also wore a pair of earrings with pavé-set diamond hoops and pale pink gemstone drops. I’d love to get a closer look at these to see if they’re cabochons or briolettes. The luminous light color makes me wonder if they’re perhaps rose quartz, much like a suite from the Dutch royal vaults.
