The Spanish royals were in Barcelona last week, sparkling in modern earrings and rings for the annual presentation of the Princess of Girona Awards.

King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain were joined by their daughters, the Princess of Asturias and Infanta Sofia, for the Princess of Girona Awards on Wednesday. The Prince/Princess of Girona title is one traditionally held by the heir to the Spanish throne, dating from the days when it was the title for the heir to the Crown of Aragon.
Princess Leonor has held the Girona princely title for the last decade, and she was front and center for the presentation of the prizes during this year’s awards ceremony. Winners were honored for their work in several fields, including arts and literature, business, social work, scientific research, and international efforts.

For the awards ceremony and gala, Princess Leonor wore a sparkly jacket and trousers with diamond earrings. UFO No More tells us that the suit comes from the brand Bleis. The earrings, which feature tiny pear-shaped diamond pendants in a diamond frame, suspended from a row of brilliants, come from Queen Letizia’s jewelry box. Leonor has borrowed these on previous occasions as well. She finished off the look with a ring worn on the index finger of her left hand, mimicking her mother’s usual ring placement.

Speaking of Queen Letizia, she was also present for the ceremony and gala, wearing a black trouser suit from Mango. She accessorized with a pair of shoulder-dusting beaded earrings from a favorite brand, Tous. These have been in her jewelry box for almost a decade.

As usual, Letizia also wore a ring on the index finger of her left hand: her gold Coreterno ring, which features text from Dante’s Divine Comedy.

And there was one more ring-related jewelry surprise from the event, too! Infanta Sofia wore a dark blue jumpsuit for the ceremony and gala. We don’t usually see her wearing any jewelry at all, but the princess surprised us this time, borrowing the oval-shaped Karen Hallam ring that used to be Queen Letizia’s constant companion.
