Last week, the heir to the throne of Belgium hosted a very special event at the Royal Palace, wearing a pair of earrings borrowed from the Queen.

Princess Elisabeth, Duchess of Brabant is home in Belgium during her summer break from Harvard, and she’s taken the opportunity to dive in to several royal engagements in her time back home. Among the most important of these was a special event at the Royal Palace in Brussels. Ten young patients from the Princess Elisabeth Children’s Hospital, a pediatric facility in Ghent named in her honor, were welcomed to the palace for an afternoon of fun.

Princess Elizabeth wore a summery embroidered dress from Zara as she hosted the event, which included a palace tour, a harp demonstration, and a special meal.

Elisabeth added some additional interest to her outfit with a pair of beaded earrings in the shape of jasmine blossoms.

Here’s a closer look at the earrings from the Carolina Herrera website. The petals of the gold plated flower earrings are decorated with small white beads.

Elisabeth borrowed the earrings for the occasion from her mother, Queen Mathilde. She’s had them for several years and has worn them on a variety of occasions. Notable outings include an appearance on National Day in 2023 and a visit to the Ivory Coast in March 2024.

Here’s one more look at the floral statement earrings on Princess Elisabeth during the children’s visit to the palace. I always love when big, playful pieces of jewelry are worn for events related to kids—they love seeing fun jewels on display!
