Time for a surprise bonus article for this Shrove Tuesday, featuring the Princess of Wales, a new pair of earrings, and (of course!) pancakes.
Princess Catherine arrived at the Oxford House Nursing Home in Slough on Tuesday to learn about new technology that is improving the lives of the residents there.
While she was at the nursing home, Kate took the opportunity to chat with several of the residents and learn about their lives.
She also met with members of the Oxford House staff.
And, because it’s Shrove Tuesday, there were pancakes, of course! It’s a longstanding traditions in the United Kingdom to eat pancakes on the day before Ash Wednesday. Kate joined in the pancake-making process during her Oxford House visit.
The princess chose a classic navy and camel ensemble for the day.
She accessorized with a new—or, at least, new to her—pair of navy blue and gold button earrings.
Here’s a closer look at the earring details. The blue button earrings feature gold accents in a quilted pattern, almost like a Chanel handbag. I don’t know any information about their provenance, but they look vintage to me.
Here’s one more look at Kate wearing the earrings for her Oxford House visit.
