The Princess of Monaco headed out to Monte Carlo on Saturday for a special cancer awareness tribute, wearing a fascinating pair of earrings made of black jade and coral.

Princess Charlene arrived at the Place du Casino in Monte Carlo on Saturday evening for the official launch of the principality’s “Pink October” campaign to mark breast cancer awareness month. She was accompanied by her brother, Gareth Wittstock, for the event.

Charlene, who is the honorary president of the Pink Ribbon Association, pressed a button to turn on pink lights outside the principality’s famous casino. Many more Monegasque buildings, including the Prince’s Palace, will also be bathed in pink light from now until the end of October.

Charlene complemented the pink light with her black-and-white ensemble. UFO No More tells us that her oversized jacket and matching trousers both come from Armani.

Charlene added contrast to the suit with a black blouse and black heels. She also wore black and white earrings for the occasion. These come from A.E. Köchert’s Jade collection.

Charlene’s exact earrings aren’t currently available on the Köchert website, but here’s a look at a pair of the same design made with different stones (diamonds, white jade, and chalcedony). Charlene’s version are set with diamonds, black jade, and white coral.

Here’s a better look at Charlene’s version from last weekend’s cancer awareness event. She’s had these in her jewelry box for at least three years. Many of the Grimaldi women have embraced Köchert in recent years, with Princess Caroline, Princess Alexandra, and Beatrice Borromeo Casiraghi all wearing jewels from the former Austrian crown jeweler.

And speaking of heirloom royal jewels, I’ve got a special article coming up tomorrow on Hidden Gems: a closer look at a replica royal necklace, commissioned by Queen Mary, that will soon be up for sale in Switzerland. Paid subscribers will get the full story on Saturday.
