Royal jewels helped ring in the new year around the globe, and my survey of sparkling highlights continues today with a favorite pair of earrings worn by the Princess of Monaco.
The Prince and Princess of Monaco shared their annual message of hope for the coming year on their social media accounts on New Year’s Eve. Prince Albert II did most of the talking, chronicling some of the highlights for Monaco in 2025 and wishing for “serenity and unity” for 2026. At the end of the video, he was joined by Princess Charlene and their children, Princess Gabriella and Hereditary Prince Jacques.

The Palais Princier also released a new family portrait taken during the filming of the New Year message. The family stands beside one of the palace’s beautifully decorated Christmas trees for the picture. Princess Charlene wore a white Elie Saab jumpsuit for the occasion, with Princess Gabriella’s red dress neatly completing the principality’s patriotic red-and-white color scheme.

Both princesses also added earrings to their ensembles. Gabriella wore the petite, age-appropriate diamond and pearl earrings we saw her wear back in November for National Day, while Charlene pulled out a favorite pair of gold, diamond, and pearl earrings from her jewelry box.

The earrings, which feature a lotus-inspired floral design, are made of yellow gold and set with diamonds and a central pearl. They come from one of Charlene’s go-to jewelry brands, Repossi. She’s had the earrings in her jewelry box for the better part of a decade. Above, she wears them for the Golden Nymph Awards in June 2018.

A year later, she paired the earrings with a grassy-green evening gown for the annual Red Cross Ball, held in Monte Carlo in July 2019.

And two years ago, she also chose the earrings for her appearance in Prince Albert’s annual New Year message, celebrating the achievements of 2023 and hoping for a happy 2024. On that occasion, she wore the jewels with a burgundy velvet dress from Ralph Lauren.

Here’s one more look at Charlene wearing the earrings for this year’s New Year video. The twins ended this year’s message with an emphatic “Vive Monaco!”
