Happy Birthday to the Princess of Asturias, who celebrates her 20th birthday today. Princess Leonor was front and center last week in Oviedo at the annual Princess of Asturias Awards, and today we’ve got a closer look at jewels from two of the weekend’s sparkling events.
The Spanish royal family headed to Asturias on October 23 for the start of the Princess of Asturias Awards celebrations. The multi-day event began with a concert at the Principe Felipe Auditorium in Oviedo. The entire family opted for ensembles in shades of navy and black, with all three of the royal ladies opting to wear trousers with blouses and jackets for the concert.
Queen Letizia wore extremely minimal jewelry for the concert, reaching for a tiny pair of diamond studs as her only significant jewelry accessory. Perhaps she didn’t want to pull focus from the beaded sleeves of her Carolina Herrera top?
Princess Leonor wore a tweed-and-sequin jacket from Emporio Armani for the concert, paired with diamond and aquamarine Bulgari hoop earrings borrowed from her mother.
The hoops can also be worn with a diamond and aquamarine pendant. Queen Letizia wore the complete earring last year for the concert on the night before the Princess of Asturias Awards.
And in October 2023, Leonor wore the hoops and the drops together for the Princess of Asturias Awards ceremony itself.
Infanta Sofia wore a halter-neck jumpsuit for the Thursday evening concert. The King and Queen’s younger daughter has begun wearing more and more jewelry for public appearances. This time, she borrowed her mother’s gold oval ring, a Karen Hallam piece, and wore a modern gold cuff bracelet on her right forearm.
On Friday, October 24, the entire family attended the Princess of Asturias Awards ceremony at the Campoamor Theatre in Oviedo. The Princess of Asturias was accompanied at the event by the King and Queen and Infanta Sofia. Leonor’s grandmother, Queen Sofia, was also part of the family party for the occasion.
For the awards ceremony, Queen Letizia wore a black dress with a sheer overlay, paired with her black and white diamond earrings from De Grisogono, a now-defunct Swiss luxury jewelry brand.
With her dark purple H&M dress, Princess Leonor wore a lovely pair of earrings set with amethysts and small green gemstones.
Infanta Sofia wore a burgundy-colored dress with a sheer shawl-style overlay, paired with the same jewels she wore for the concert the night before: the modern gold bracelet and Queen Letizia’s Karen Hallam ring.
Queen Sofia was elegant in a trouser suit with beaded embellishments on the jacket for the awards ceremony, paired with gold and pearl jewelry.
