I’m continuing to catch up on a few interesting European royal jewelry moments from last week, with a closer look today at gold and diamond jewels worn by Queen Letizia of Spain to mark the recent tenth anniversary of her husband’s reign.

Last Wednesday, King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain made a pair of appearances in Madrid. They were on hand to present the King of Spain International Journalism Awards at the headquarters of Casa de América in the Palacio de Linares. Prizes were awarded in several categories, including narrative journalism, photography, and humanitarian action.

They also headed to one of the city’s most iconic locations, the Plaza Mayor, for a special concert. The Royal Guard has been presenting a series of concerts in cities throughout Spain over the past year to commemorate the 10th anniversary of King Felipe’s accession to the throne in 2014, and Wednesday’s concert was the last in the series.

For the awards ceremony and concert, Queen Letizia wore a jumpsuit made by one of her favorite design brands, Hugo Boss. UFO No More tells us that this is the company’s Debasa jumpsuit. She accessorized with a metallic clutch and shoes, as well as jewelry made of gold and diamonds.

For the occasion, Letizia wore both new jewelry pieces and jewels that have been in her collection for several years. Her earrings are new. She made her debut in these gold-plated earrings earlier this month at a conference dedicated to projects for social improvement in Madrid.

Here’s a closer look at the earrings, which come from the company PDPAOLA. The brand describes them as “elegant asymmetric hoop earrings with contrasting pavé zirconia knotted pendants.”

With the new earrings, Letizia wore a statement bracelet that has been in her jewelry box for nearly two decades. The piece, which features a ridged gold and diamond design, comes from the brand Perodri.
Letizia has been wearing the bracelet for more formal moments in both the day and evening for at least eighteen years. One of her first major appearances in the jewel came in October 2007, when she wore it for the presentation of the Prince of Asturias Awards in Oviedo. On that occasion, she paired the bracelet with her diamond wedding earrings.
In September 2008, Letizia wore the bracelet with a black and white ensemble for a gala dinner given in honor of the visiting President of Costa Rica at the Royal Palace in Madrid.
Perhaps Letizia was thinking back to some of her jewelry appearances in her last years as Princess of Asturias as the accession anniversary year draws to a close. One of her most recent documented outings in the bracelet was in the autumn of 2013, when she wore it for the presentation of the Francisco Cerecedo Journalism Award in Madrid.

For the accession anniversary concert, Queen Letizia finished off her jewelry look with a gold ring, worn on the index finger of her left hand. The ring, which comes from the brand Coreterno, has been one of Letizia’s constant jewelry companions since the Epiphany celebrations in Spain in January 2023.
