I’ve got a confession to make, dear readers: I’ve been keeping a little secret for the past several months, and it’s finally time to share…

Yep, I’m expecting a baby! Sometime over the next few weeks, my husband and I will welcome our first child to our family. We’re very excited, and we’re also very thrilled that we don’t have to greet the world’s press on the steps of the hospital after the baby is born.

Because this website is a one-woman show, I decided that I needed to share my news with all of you, so that some upcoming changes to the content calendar would make a little more sense. From today until (I think!) the end of February, I’m reducing the number of articles published here to one per day. I’ve been able to pre-schedule lots of content, thankfully, to give myself some time to rest and to adjust to having a new boss in the house! But I decided that this monumental change will definitely require me to pull back just a bit on my workload for a short while. Never fear: there will still be sparkling content here, just a little less frequently than usual. I’ll also be putting my newsletter on hiatus for the next six weeks or so, though it will resume early next year.

I’m also thrilled to share that we’ll have a few guest posts from some of my friends published here in the coming weeks. It’s been so much fun to coordinate those articles, and I think you’ll love hearing their perspective on royal jewels and learning a little bit about their projects, too.

As you might expect, having to pre-schedule lots of content means that, very shortly, current events will not be covered as quickly or as frequently here on the site. I’m hoping to catch up with major sparkling moments as soon as I’m able—and I’m very grateful to the British royals for putting off their coronation until May, by which time I’ll be back here at full strength.

I’m so grateful for all of the support so many of you have given me over the years, and I’m glad I can finally let you in on the secret I’ve been keeping for so long! I thank you in advance for your patience and your grace during this upcoming transition for me, and I’m hopeful you’ll continue to visit daily (and share articles with others!) to keep us chugging along here in a slightly modified fashion for the next little while.
I should also note that, the internet being the internet, I won’t be sharing photographs or detailed information about the baby online—but I have left some big hints in this post about whether he’ll be a he or she’ll be a she in this post. Any guesses? 😉
