8. At the annual Polar Music Prize on Thursday, Queen Silvia of Sweden wore an interesting suite of modern jewelry.

7. The Duchess of Gloucester brought us an impressive show of daytime jewelry at Royal Ascot on Tuesday, wearing ruby and diamond earrings, a pearl necklace, a brooch made of diamonds, rubies, sapphires, and emeralds, and diamond and ruby clips. 4. At the St. Paul's service on Friday, Princess Michael of Kent thrilled jewel watchers by wearing one of the brooches that was once owned by Princess Louise, Duchess of Argyll. See more jewels from the St. Paul's service over here.

3. On Ladies' Day at Ascot, Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom wore one of her most magnificent brooches: the Albert Brooch, worn by Queen Victoria at her wedding. Read more about the Ladies' Day jewels over here.

2. Even better: on Wednesday, Queen Elizabeth II chose Royal Ascot as the setting for a new brooch: a diamond rose clip by Cartier. See more over here!
